Country of the week - Spain - Interview

Interview with Marian (the Spanish teacher)

Where in Spain were you born?
Madrid

How long did you live in Madrid?
Until 1998

What do you think of Madrid?
It’s a wonderful and beautiful city. I love it!!!!

What’s your favorite Spanish food?
My mom’s potato omelette and Rice a Banda with Ali Oli sauce.

Can you tell us about the Spanish culture?
One thing I like about Spain that there are so many beautiful sights so well preserved that you can almost feel the history.

Did you hear about the plane crash, if yes what do you think about it?
I was scared, my family lives close to the airport. I travel a lot to that airport with Spain Air. It felt like it could happen to me.

Why did you come to Sweden?
I met my husband (back then boyfriend) in Madrid and he convinced me to move to Sweden and try a new life.

Apart from the weather, what are the main differences between Spain and Sweden?
In Spain the days are very long; we are more in the streets and meet our friends outside. It’s too early to go home at 6.

What is the celebration you like most?
Popular festivities in my village which include
bullfighting, music concerts and dancing during the night.
