These games will be held on the Barclays Cup in England. The Barclays Cup is one of the biggest cups followed by Serie A, the Italian cup, La Liga , the Spanish cup. UEFA Cup is held in Europe. UEFA has Europes top teams. To be with in UEFA Cup you have to win the country cup e.g Manchester won Barclays Cup so they qualify to the UEFA Cup. This weekend there is an amazing match, Manchster Utd agaist Everton at 12:00 on Saterday.

Basketball:
Dr. James Naismith is known world-wide as the inventor of basketball. He was born in 1861 in Ramsay township, near Almonte, Ontario, Canada. After serving as McGill's Athletic Director, James Naismith moved on to the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA in 1891, where the sport of basketball was born. In Springfield, Naismith was faced with the problem of finding a sport that was suitable for play inside during the Massachusetts winter for the students at the School for Christian Workers. Naismith wanted to create a game of skill for the students instead of one that relied solely on strength. He needed a game that could be played indoors in a relatively small space. The first game was played with a soccer ball and two peach baskets used as goals. James Naismith devised a set of thirteen rules of basketball.
Soccer No one knows for sure when or where soccer was invented, but many researchers have ideas. One place that many people think soccer was invented is China. People think that soccer was invented as a distraction for soldiers in war. Ancient Chinese Texts say that the Chinese Emperor invented soccer 5,000 years ago, but modern Chinese Historians say that their country invented soccer around 500 B.C. but the modern soccer we know today is created by the English.

The match on Friday was hard. The juniors won one of the two matches and the seniors lost both matches. Juniors won 7 – 0 against Lund and then they lost by a lot against Helsingborg. The seniors lost both matches but never gave up. We came back to Malmö Central station at about 16:00.

Criticising the world
CRITICISING THE WORLD
In this issue of CRITICISING THE WORLD, you will read about the TV shows and reality shows of today’s TV.
Shows such as Hell’s kitchen, Idol, Top Model etc. are the shows I will be discussing. Lets start with Hell’s Kitchen. First of all, you can see the show is fixed, it might be interesting for an episode or two, until you realize that the same thing happens over and over and over again, the wrong things with it is that they swear in the kitchen, which gives bad energy to the food, and could actually poison someone, the food is always late and the restaurant always has to close down. Idol is a terrible show because it promotes music that is not what people should be listening to, the show might be fixed or acted out, but I’m not sure, the content is repetitive and with each season it’s the same thing, Simon, the critic is always mean and so on. Top model is a show that very many women across the world watch, they think it is interesting, perhaps it is for the females, but the thing about it is that with every season it’s the same thing and it gives women the impression that being beautiful is everything, while brains is actually what matters, all these shows are very repetitive, and I say this not to insult anyone that likes these shows: these shows are for stupid people.
Of course Hell’s Kitchen isn’t the only show that makes me angry, but most of the shows on MTV, clearly they are all acted out even though they are “reality shows’’ They are so over exaggerated and soap operaish, that no smart or bright person would watch them, shows such as Tila Tequila, X effect and some other dumb shows. And now to end the issue on the brighter side, there are some shows that are in fact real, and provide some variety and quality, but those shows might perhaps be boring for the younger audience, most shows on discovery and other such channels show good shows and should be viewed instead of the shows I listed.

The pro hockey league has already started. They have actually played a game here in Sweden. It was not played in Malmö but in Stockholm.

When a plane was trying to lane in foggy weather near Mount Everest, it crashed and caught on fire. It was a Yeti- airlines 19 seat plane. It crashed at Lukla airport, about 60 km. from Mount Everest. It had taken off from Kathmandu.
Missing Backpacker
A 21 year old girl is still missing from three weeks ago. Her family doesn’t think that the police are putting enough effort into the case. Her name was Britt Lapthorne, and she was last seen in the coastal city of Dubrovnik.
Milk Scandal
Four babies in Australia have died and ten thousands have been made ill from a product of milk powder that has been tainted with the organic compound melamine, which is a health hazard at high levels. This product was made in China, and has been like this since the contamination crisis in China. Fonterra Australia has reported an increase in demand from Asia for its milk powder products after the contamination.

MotorStorm Pacific Rift
Motorstorm Pacific Rift is coming out for Playstation 3, between October and December 2008. The developer is Eleven Studios, publisher Sony. This is a racing game. It is 1-4 players offline in splitscreen mode and 1-16 players online. Media type blu-ray HD resolution 720p.
I think this is going to be a very, very good game because the first one was the best selling Playstation 3 brutal off road racer. This game is on a pacific island and the tracks go over swamps dense jungle towering peaks and steaming volcanoes. This time your opponents are much more aggressive and artificial intelligence. There are 16 multi-route tracks to tear up with all the vehicle classes from the first MotorStorm: ATVs, rally cars, buggies, motorbikes, race trucks, mudpluggers and Big Rigs, as well as the newly arrived monster trucks that climb, sprint and roll over any vehicle in their way.
As it hasn’t come out yet I am not sure what could be better or what they could have improved.

London, England:
One of the best cities in the world to visit, with some of the most interesting sites, is London.
For example, The Big Ben is one of the most exciting sightseeing buildings. Or the London Eye, you can go into a capsule and when you get to the top you can see a marvelous sight of the whole city. There is also The National Historic Museum which is one of the best museums in the whole world. In there you can find a section of dinosaurs which are very interesting and many other animals that are displayed for people to see. And last but definitely not least The London Bridge, one of the coolest bridges to walk, cycle or drive across.

Leopard Gecko is a lizard living in some countries in Asia. They have lots of happy owners all over the world, including me. The diet depends on what you decide to feed them with. The most popular are crickets, but people feed them sometimes with other bugs like butterworms. They can grow from 18-25 cm and can live for about 25 years! They are very curious. Once when I took mine out of his cage he was so interested in the computer that he didn’t want to go back to his box.
There is a weird thing about his skin, some people think it’s fascinating, some think it’s just cool and some think that it’s disgusting. He throws it away each month. First he is very colorful, and then he gets a little bit lighter, then lighter, then white, then he gets so white that his small skin breaks off. This might be a little bit disgusting but that is just what he does, he eats his own skin. He eats it very quickly. Mine has eaten four already, the first one was when I went to a friend for a couple of hours and when I came back he was all colorful again. I thought there was something wrong with him but there wasn’t. Next time I was home and I watched everything from beginning to end and I was amazed, by the fact that he ate it in less than an hour. The next two I missed when I was at school and when I was sleeping… bad luck.
A leopard gecko is a good pet. He is not aggressive and he bites only when you force him by squeezing, not being delicate etc. As I said they have lots of owners and it is a very interesting and fun animal.

This is a 3rd person strategy game. It’s Developer and publisher is Ubisoft. It is coming out for PS3 and maybe for Xbox360 too. It is coming out between October and December 2008. It is for 1 player on 1 console and can be multiplayer online. Media type blu-ray, HD-resolution 1080i, 720p. Sound Dolby 5.1.
I think this is going to be a very, very, very good game, because you can access voice commands. A relevant storyline pits superpower against superpower in all-out war with you in command. You'll take control of the US-led Joint Strike Force, the European Enforcers Corps, or the Russian Spetsnaz Guards Brigade in a single-player campaign or online against friends in a constantly evolving Theatre of War mode.

Fourteen-year-old Lauren knows that she's adopted but she doesn't know anything about her birth family. Then a search on the Internet leads her to suspect that she might be a missing child
- a child snatched from an American family when she was three. Suddenly nothing in her life makes sense anymore. Could her adoptive parents have anything to do with her kidnapping? Together with her friend Jam, she sets out to solve the mystery of her past. But there are people who are prepared to do anything to hide the truth, and soon Lauren and Jam are in serious trouble...
I think it was a great book with lots of excitement. It was very interesting and after a few pages, you don’t want to put the book down. I think Sophie McKenzie described the book well and made it feel like we were in the book. I would give this book five stars because it was faultless.

Twilight
Twilight is the best book I have ever read. It is about a vampire named Edward and a girl named Bella that fall in love. PSP Lite
Sony wanted to do something new with their popular console, PlayStation Portable. Sony released the PSP in May 2004 it had a tough fight with the Nintendo DS. Nintendo was more popular but there still are lots of fans of both of them. Later Sony released a version called PSP Slim… which had absolutely no difference, except the slim figure and the way of putting in UMD’s (Universal Media Disc). Since it was new, people bought it instead of the old one but it still didn’t beat the DS.
Now came out the PSP Lite which has a memory stick on the side, speakers high (before they were low) a slight new design and…. actually nothing more! If those changes will be so “advanced” than they will have to forget about beating DS. Sony already beat Nintendo in importable consoles. PlayStation 2 and 3 are the most popular consoles in the world and Wii will have work for years to beat them but in portable consoles Nintendo is leading. The PSP is OK but people want some changes instead of moving the memory card place for additional money!

Rock band 2
Rock Band 2 is the 2nd game from the Rock Band series. It came out in the U.S. on September 15th 2008 for the console Xbox 360. This game is a 4 player game. One person sings; one plays the bass one the guitar and one plays the drums.

Since America is the country of the week, it’s always good to know the most popular places to visit if you ever happen to be in America on vacation.

New York City: It’s an exciting place to visit. There are many attractions there, for all ages. For those who like art there is the museum of modern art, and the Whitney museum of American art. For those of you who like Musicals and theatre performances there is always Broadway! On Broadway you can see many different shows, for example the very well known “Wicked” show. Tickets have been sold out in every show for the past six years that it has been showing. It is truly an amazing show!!! Also there is Legally Blond the Musical, or Spamalot.
You can also go to the Empire State building. You can go all the way to the top, which is extremely high. Or there is the famous Statue of Liberty. If you want to see some nature, go to the Central Park and experience the beauty! Also for those History lovers there is the American Museum of Natural History. That’s about it for New York!
Orlando, Florida: One of the best cities to have fun!!! Disney World, one of the best fun parks for children. There are many rides. One of the best things of the park is that you get to meet all the Disney characters. There are 4 different parks in Disney world. They are called Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM studios. They are all very popular. Also there is Universal Studios. It is not a part of Disney world, but it is still a wonderful experience. Go there and see it your self!!!

You can also go to the Empire State building. You can go all the way to the top, which is extremely high. Or there is the famous Statue of Liberty. If you want to see some nature, go to the Central Park and experience the beauty! Also for those History lovers there is the American Museum of Natural History. That’s about it for New York!
Orlando, Florida: One of the best cities to have fun!!! Disney World, one of the best fun parks for children. There are many rides. One of the best things of the park is that you get to meet all the Disney characters. There are 4 different parks in Disney world. They are called Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM studios. They are all very popular. Also there is Universal Studios. It is not a part of Disney world, but it is still a wonderful experience. Go there and see it your self!!!

CRITICIZING THE WORLD
Welcome to an all new criticizing the world!
In this issue I will:
Criticize a book: Catcher In the Rye.
The author of the book is: J.D Salinger. This book was written in 1947 and 1948, this is my personal favourite book, and I think this author’s style has really inspired me. This book is very original and so modern, that I was actually very surprised it was written as long ago as 1948.
This book is about a boy called Holden Caulfield, it is written in the first person and explains a story about his everyday life, he escapes from his school, becoming tired of everything and being mad because he will get expelled, and he doesn’t want his parents to find out. Once he is in the city he uses up his money, gets in a hotel and goes around meeting up with old chums. In the book he even got in a fight with his roommate, who started dating Holden’s old friend, when he talks about her you feel what he feels about her and your emotions go to your head, this is written in such a unique and original style, and reads so well, in certain moments of the book, you get overfilled with emotions, either happy or sad, and I think this is what true art should do to you, The character explains all about his family on random parts of the book, the book is so beautifully written, and is world famous among young people and teenagers.

Storm Catchers - Tim Bowler
The kidnap shocks the whole family. When Ella is snatched away from her family in the middle of a storm Fin will never forgive himself for leaving her on her own. Not only is the kidnapper a total freak but also Ella’s little brother Sam keeps running out to the cliff to ‘catch the storm’. As the kidnapper’s plans unfold the whole family is forced to confront their deepest darkest secrets.
This book was a great read; I never wanted to put it down! They really make the characters seem real and you can see them and their surroundings in your imagination. This is an excellent example for do not judge a book by its cover because the cover is just three stick men. I give this book 5 stars. You can find it in our school library.

Book Review- Thief
Thief is about a twelve girl called Lydia who had just moved to another town. But nothing goes as she has planned. The school cup has gone missing and is found in Lydia's locker, but not just that. Lydia’s new life is filled with problems. How is she going to prove she is innocent?I think this is a great book with lots of excitement and action. I think they describe the characters well and make them seem interesting. I would give this book four and a half stars. You can find it in our school library.

The unusual thing about a camel spider is that they scream while running after attacking humans. Their bites are not poisonous but hurt a lot!
They can run at about 10 Miles per hour. They are mostly found in the deserts of the Middle East. They can also jump several feet in the air. Are you a Democrat or Republican? Well if you’re rooting for Obama then you’re a Democrat, or McCain, then you’re a Republican. Democrat or republican?
Recently Obama has been leading by 5%. McCain has 125 safe electoral votes, and 75 leaning electoral votes. While Obama has 160 safe electoral votes and 63 leaning electoral votes. The amount that is needed to win is 270 electoral votes.
McCain thinks that Obama does not show leadership. The McCain campaign put out a commercial ad saying on the screen “Obama and his liberal allies? Mum on the market crisis.” On the screen beside a picture of Obama it says “No leadership. A risk your family can’t afford!” The Obama campaign says that McCain is the one that doesn’t show leadership.
More polls show that voters think Obama
will do a better job handling the economic crisis that is going on right now, than McCain. McCain is trying to convince the voters differently; by pointing out he has already laid out a plan. Who do you think will win? Who do you want to win? Election day is coming up on the 4th of November. Let’s hope the Americans make the right choice!

One thing I like about Spain that there are so many beautiful sights so well preserved that you can almost feel the history.

I was scared, my family lives close to the airport. I travel a lot to that airport with Spain Air. It felt like it could happen to me.

Bladins- Olympics 2008
Bladins Olympics Day 2008
The Bladins Olympics Day was a great success. The weather was perfect for all of the events. The day was held at the sports stadium “Hästhagen” in Malmö. The stadium is not far from Bladins. All classes from PYP6 to MYP4&5 participated. The events
were, 100 meter sprint, 800 meter run, javelin throw, long jump and the relay race.
The winning team was the BLACK team! GREEN came second., RED came third, YELLOW came fourth , and last but not least BLUE came last.

We need more people to come to the soccer practice every Tuesday. The football practice takes in the sports hall. Soccer practice starts at 16:30 – 18:00. It contains a lot of running, passing and of course playing matches at the end of the practice.

At this moment we only have 4 people in the bandy club. The bandy club needs at least 15 students to be able to have a mediocre bandy team. Bandy takes place in the sports hall on Mondays from 16:30 – 18:00.

CRITICIZING THE WORLD AGAIN
As you might have already guessed, criticizing the world isn’t just a title, its not just about criticizing video games, movies or things like that. The title is really about criticizing the world and the problems in it.
Todays topic is going to be quite a risky topic and note that I do not mean to offend anyone’s views on anything, as a critic, I quite happily receive criticism of my own.
The topic is going to be the modern music of the 2000s, I do not want to say that all the music being manufactured is bad, but the ones they hype out on the radio is not about the music or the art but all about the money, the fame and selling themselves out. Modern music such as rap does not make me happy and is NOT music, it’s a bunch of high gangsters that try to be cool by singing swear words and then getting famous for it, some of these people get so much money that they don’t even deserve, while those who do deserve the money are living in poverty.
I am saying all this for a reason, the reason that this music has affected all the minds of young people. The music I think should be on the radio is the music that deserves the listening of the majority of people but not the music that they pay great loads of cash to air, the music was good back in the 1960s, 70s, 80s and maybe even 90s. Back then the music was all about the art and not about the money, music from such great artists such as Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Deep Purple, Santana and dozens more of the bands that did it for the beauty of the art and not for the money. I hope I didn’t offend anyone today, and if you disagree with my views please comment.

I´m going to be reviewing the new movie everyone is talking about, WALL-E.
It has a 97% score from the critics on rotten tomatoes. To find this website, search for ‘rotten tomatoes’ on Google. It’s a really good site if you want to find out how good or how bad a movie is. Even adults think WALL-E is a great blockbuster. When I went to get cinema tickets for WALL-E, The guy at the counter told me that all the tickets were sold out! When I managed to watch it the next day, it was really good! And it had a message in it, and I think it was that we humans can litter the world so much that we have to leave robots to clean up after us, and WALL-E is one of those robots who wants a friend or someone to be with on earth, but only finds a cockroach for company. What will happen, will WALL-E find a friend or will he just stay on earth, cleaning up after humans? Watch the movie to find out!
I think it is good because it’s funny and has an interesting message about our future.

The plane had 172 crew members and passengers including 2 babies and 20 children, 153 people died and 19 survived. There was no evidence on how many children died. A Cuban taekwondo fighter got REALLY angry. Angel Matos after he got disqualified by the referees in a bronze- medal fight he got furious. He couldn't control his emotions and he kicked the referee in the face…headshot! The only thing was that instead of a bronze medal on the Olympics he got banned from taekwondo for the rest of his life. Poor guy, but that's what you get when you don't how to lose.

Taekwondo headshot!... In the referee!
A Cuban taekwondo fighter got REALLY angry. Angel Matos after he got disqualified by the referees in a bronze- medal fight he got furious. He couldn't control his emotions and he kicked the referee in the face…headshot! The only thing was that instead of a bronze medal on the Olympics he got banned from taekwondo for the rest of his life. Poor guy, but that's what you get when you don't how to lose.

In our special first edition I am going to write a rather positive review for all you video game lovers out there!
The game I am going to criticize, is one of my personal favourite games, in fact it is my favourite game,

So, beginning this session I don’t even know where to start, this game is so massive. You start out as a Slavic immigrant that has just come to ‘the land of opportunity’ you are expecting to be living the American dream, for your cousin has blabbed about how many women he has, sports cars and mansions, but when you come to one of the small islands of Liberty city, your cousin is living in a one room apartment and nothing is how you expected. At first you start doing missions for your cousins, as a driver, you drive clients and things like that, but your couisin is in trouble, he owes money to some Russian loan sharks and you end up killing everyone that’s against him, soon enough you’re doing drug pickups, shoot outs, killing gangsters and raiding banks. The graphics are the most amazing for a game of that huge size, as you might expect, from a grand theft auto game, you can steal cars, kill people and do crazy things. The great features of this game is that you can meet up with friends, go drinking, eating, to a comedy club, pool bowling, darts or something I won’t list.
This game is one of the best and I rate it:
10/10

The 2008 Olympics was both filled with success and scandals. This years Olympics gave 43 world records and 132 Olympic records. Among all these records there were two people who stand out. They were Michael Phelps and Usian Bolt. Michael Phelps won eight medals and all gold. Usian Bolt won three medals and also all gold. Along all this extraordinary achievements there were scandals. If we start with Sweden there was the wrestling scandal. Ara Abrahamian the Swedish wrestler was unfairly treated during the semifinal against Andrea Minguzzi. The judge gave Andrea point because he thought Ara was crawling away from the wrestling mat. But after looking at the videos of this match it was proven that the judge was wrong but they wouldn’t change their minds about their decision. Over to taekwondo we have the Cuban fighter “Angel Valodia” who lost his control and gave the judge a kick towards the face. It hit the judge on the lip. The judge was Swedish.

International News - Spanish Hot Spots
Since Spain is the country of the month, it’s always good to know the most popular places to visit if you ever happen to be in Spain on vacation.
Spain has some of the planet’s best historic tourism. In the southern region in Spain there are lots of things to do for everyone. Sol Y Nieve has one of Europe’s premier ski and snowboard resorts. Or if you’re up for excitement, then Ronda is the spectacular home of bullfighting, and has a wonderful setting. Seville has the third largest cathedral in the world, and all cities are in good reach of three seaside resorts, Nerja, Malaga, and Torremolinos.
Seville is one of Europe’s biggest tourist attractions. It has been the center of many European cultural events, and it has also hosted a World’s fair.
Ronda is the home for modern Bullfighting, and all the rules were made there. The city is built upon a cliff, and the only way to get there is to cross a bridge 300 ft. above the Tajo River’s riverbed.
The best way to travel through Southern Spain is by rental car, it gives more freedom of where to go. Wherever you choose to go, Southern Spain offers a good bit of history, and a great winter vacation. Also magnificent food or wine (the wine is not for children of course!!!) and all this comes with moderate weather!
